Pictures of my children at my best friend's farm. Won't tell you their ages as they'd never speak to me again ! Even at an early age they were introduced to ponies and horses. Unfortunately, while Jim was patient, he never really had the urge to have horses in later life... and that's ok :-)Mr. Mannix is another story. My daughter had lost her "grey" in an electrical storm. At the same time we had a mare that was "one brick short of a load" who had a six month old foal by her side. We traveled to a good friend's farm, Frost Hill Stables - Edinburgh, IN, and traded both in on "Manny." He was a warmblood gelding and just the right size for Deb... only one problem... he bucked you off after every fence! And then there was Dexter **sigh**. Dexter was a "one person" horse, a buckskin that had 3-gaited somewhere way back in his history. Scott fell in love with him instantly... and was responsible for naming him too **grin** I can't find any pictures but the neatest thing, because he was only about six years old, was to see Scott shinny up Dexter's LEG.. in order to reach the stirrup and eventually, the saddle ! While wishing that all three children would continue with a love of horses, only Debra "kept the candle burning" through some serious lessons and fun shows.

Student yes.. my daughter... and I think we BOTH learned a good lesson... never try to teach your own child to: RIDE a horse or... DRIVE a car! Sadly I don't remember anyone's name... or even the names of the horses. Even the farm itself is gone...razed to make way for businesses. All three pictures were taken at March Wind Farm on Zionsville Road, Zionsville, IN so if there's anyone who views this site and can add any information PLEASE email me at: Your input would be GREATLY appreciated!
